Gem Assessment, client also pays shipping and handling
Once I receive your gem I will be in contact via your preferred method. I will examine your stone and give you my professional assessment as to the viability of moving forward with additional facet work.
please note, my assessment is not intended to replace an appraisal. It is solely to give you a greater understanding of the stone and possibilities that lie within it. The $45 assessment fee applies to the final invoice if faceting is performed.

Minimum per each finished gem
Gem faceting of your rough
I always strive to retain the most weight and the most clarity possible from each stone. Typically gemstones will lose 75% of their weight through the faceting process.
$ 75.00
Each hour of facet work
For each hour I work on your gemstone. I charge only for actual cutting time.
We offer quotes for custom designs, large stones, gem repair and recutting—simply contact us. Many clients require pricing tailored to their preference in design and weight
For a custom faceted gemstone from rough material you own, please follow these steps:
Visit a respected jeweler or rock shop to see if your rough material is ‘facet grade’. In some cases gemstones are too flawed to be cut, or too small to justify the cost of precision faceting. Unfortunately, photographs are not reliable enough to assess a gemstone.
Contact us to discuss designs, pricing, and approximate turnaround time. Please contact us directly to discuss your faceting needs. If you would like to have a stone cut by a particular date, plan several months in advance.
Upon completion of your stone we will send you an invoice for services. (Payment is due at the time of invoice receipt)
Your gemstone will be securely shipped back to you after full payment is received.
We are no longer accepting PayPal or credit card transactions
(Contact us for other payment options)
We strive to provide you with realistic timelines. If you are intending to have a piece of jewelry created by a certain date, contact us as soon as possible to assess your needs and create a plan that works for you.
