Frosted Oregon Sunstone
This beautiful Sunstone was carefully created from Oregon rough that I purchased at the 2025 Tucson Gem Show. The design I selected is called Angkor Frosti Modefi Ametist, which was originally crafted for Quartz. I thoughtfully modified the angles to better complement the refractive index (RI) of Feldspar, enhancing its brilliance. A friend mentioned that the frosted facet junctions create delicate little flower patterns in the pavilion, adding a unique artistic touch. This 3.07-carat, 10.11 mm orange and pink gemstone truly dances with light and will look stunning set in a gold pendant.
